Allison Gibson Missions Update

El Salvador, Here I Come!

As you may have read in my last newsletter update, I am super excited to be preparing for a short-term mission trip to El Salvador in Central America! I’ve been busy over the past couple of months dusting off my Spanish. I wanted to send you this email to give you a few more details about the trip, what the team will be doing while we’re there, and how you can be involved in the work God is doing through our amazing team.

KidZ at Heart has been active in El Salvador for quite some time, and our in-country staff members have done an amazing job of actively continuing our Transforming KidZ Ministry Training in the region, building a strong network of children’s ministry leaders and teachers and equipping them with training even in the midst of the pandemic.

This particular trip is unique for KidZ at Heart, because our team will be made up entirely of staff members, and we will not be bringing any new training. Instead, we will be observing how things are going, encouraging and building deeper relationships with our contacts in the area, and getting new ideas for ways we can adapt our training to different environments, including an online version.

Since my job at KidZ at Heart involves working with photo/video assets and curating our social media platforms, I’m excited to have my first opportunity post-COVID to document the work that is being done in the field, to see the training in action, and to hear and tell the stories of those who have been impacted by it.

With all of this in mind, I am also asking that you would join with me on this trip. First, I am in need of your prayers, for the safety and health of the team, for the growing training network, for our in-country staff, and for the relationships and stories we hope to foster. I am also asking that you would prayerfully consider supporting me financially, both for this trip, and potentially for the ongoing ministry. I am in need of about $1,000 to cover travel expenses, as well as a few new monthly supporters to join my team.

I’d also love to tell you more details about the trip and what we’ll be doing, as well as more specific ways you can pray (I’m also always looking for friends to help me practice my Spanish). So if you’re interested in learning more, please contact me. I would love to hear from you!

Allison Gibson
